Re: Boot error after converting from Hyper-V to VMWare
Configure the VM to boot into firmware/BIOS on next boot.Then go to the Boot-tap in BIOS and make sure scsi-disk 0:0 is on top of the list. Use F10 to save the settings.

it binds to the hardware the OS is installed on so for vm's it's the virtual hardware and not the physical hardware. thus DRS is not issue at all with licenses.

Another option is to buy PCIe sound cards and use VMDirectPath I/O to pass-through them to VMs. But it will be one VM per host only. I don't believe sound cards that support SR-IOV exist.
